Assistant Primary Guide

Part-Time / Full-Time | South Hills Area, Pittsburgh, PA | 2023-2024

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Passionate about working with young children (ages 3 - 6 years). 
  • Familiar the Montessori philosophy. 
  • Lead parent-teacher conferences. 
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers in the classroom. 
  • Communicate with staff about classroom duties and progress. 


Work Environment: 

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. 
  • Physically able to work in an environment with low shelves and tables. 
  • Needs to be able to kneel, sit on the floor, sit in low chairs, etc. 

Requirements

  • Must have or will be eligible for PA Dept. of Education certification for ECE/Kindergarten
  • Department of Education ECE/K Montessori certification is a plus; However, we are willing to provide a path to certification for the right candidate.
  • An understanding of Montessori education.
  • Enthusiasm in working Montessori setting and collaborating with young children.
  • First Aid certified is a plus.
  • Ability to work and communicate with colleagues.
  • Simple computer skills or willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail, organization skills , and problem solving skills are desired.
  • MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US.

Toddler Guide

About the Role

  • Familiar the Montessori philosophy. 
  • Lead parent-teacher conferences. 
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers in the classroom. 
  • Communicate with staff about classroom duties and progress. 


Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. 
  • Physically able to work in an environment with low shelves and tables. 
  • Needs to be able to kneel, sit on the floor, sit in low chairs, etc.


Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. The equivalent in training/experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • AMI / AMS certification is a plus. However, we are willing to provide a path to certification for the right candidate.
  • An understanding of Montessori education.
  • Enthusiasm in working Montessori setting and collaborating with young children.
  • First Aid certified is a plus.
  • Ability to work and communicate with colleagues.
  • Basic computer skills.
